VIDEO: GROUP OF POLICEMEN ATTACKED, PELTED WITH STONES DURING DELHI VIOLENCE IN FEBRUARY
Home > News Shots > IndiaA shocking video is currently going viral where hundreds of people can be seen surrounding a group of policemen at northeast Delhi's Chand Bagh area. The new video shows how Delhi Police personnel were brutally attacked by anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act, (CAA), protesters in the national captial.
According to a NDTV report, the video was captured from a terrace on February 24, where a large number of people are seen running up to policemen from two opposite sides of a road. As soon as, teargas shells were fired, the crowd can be seen running away. After which, they return back and surround the policemen, who are still stuck at the corner of the road.
The video does not end there; the mob then runs to the policemen from all sides and attack them with sticks and stones. Few policemen are also seen jumping over the road divider and running to safety towards the other side of the road. The scared and worried policeman are also seen taking shelter behind some trees. Constable Ratan Lal was martyred on the same day, NDTV further reported.
Meanwhile, in another video, an injured senior officer is being taken by other policemen on a different street as protesters throw stones at them and later to a house for safety. As per local media reports, these policemen had gone to Chand Bagh area to hold talks with people protesting when the incident broke out.
During the violence in northeast Delhi, more than 40 lives were lost and houses were burnt. The violence continued for three days leaving the country in shock.
