MINOR FAKED RAPE TO LAND UNCLES IN JAIL FOR 7, 10 YEARS

Two persons accused of raping their niece in 2001 were acquitted by the Supreme Court after it came to light that the minor had faked her rape. The uncles had spent about seven and 10 years in jail.

The girl who was a minor at the time of the incident, alleged that the two brothers, who were her uncles, picked her up at night, took her to their home, tied her hands to a cot and raped her in the presence of their mother, sister, wife and children.

The uncles were arrested despite medical evidence noṭ pointing to rape.
