Dalit man killed for owning a horse in Gujarat

A 21-year-old Dalit man was murdered in Gujarat by two upper class men for allegedly owning and riding a horse. The victim, Pradeep Rathod and his horse were found dead in a farm house on Thursday night.

 

Reportedly, Pradeep Rathod's father, Kalubhai had bought him the horse two months ago due to his fondness for the animal. Pradeep had been receiving threats from fellow villager for owning a horse, but he did not sell the animal. Pradeep's family has allegedly refused to claim the body till the accused have been arrested.
