CWG GOLD MEDALLIST ATTACKED IN VARANASI

Weightlifter Poonam Yadav, who won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, was reportedly attacked with bricks and stones on Saturday when she visited a relative’s house in Varanasi. Police reportedly said that Yadav was attacked after she tried to mediate a land dispute between her relative and a neighbouring village head. After saving her from the ruckus, police reportedly said that the unidentified stone pelters will not be spared.
