It was a lucky day for few people in Kolkata, as bundles of currency were falling in the city's central business district. This incident shocked many, while few ran to pick what fell from the building.
As per Times Of India (ToI) report, when income tax raided a building in Kolkata’s central business district people standing on the ground floor seen showers of currency notes from the sixth floor.
The video of the incident is currently going viral on social media as people are shocked to see what happened. When DRI officials were conducting a search in a private office inside the building, staff from that floor were throwing bundles of currency notes of denominations of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 500 and Rs. 100.
Bundles were seen being pushed out of a window on the sixth floor with the help of a broom, ToI further reported.
The DRI officials had gone to visit a private company which is engaged in export-import activities for alleged evasion of duty. Currently, police are investigating the matter.
