The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered Karnataka to release four thousand million cubic feet of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Following the order, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met the media during campaigns and said that there is no water for them to release.
He reportedly said, "I still have to get details on the matter. But where is the water for us to release? I will discuss with legal experts on our next course of action."
The SC warned Karnataka to follow their orders or else they will face serious consequences. The order comes in a difficult time for Siddaramaiah, as any stance of his could impact the upcoming Karnataka polls.
