CBI REGISTERS PRELIMINARY ENQUIRY AGAINST CHANDA KOCHHAR’S HUSBAND

Following the allegations of irregularities and nepotism in sanctioning two loans totalling around Rs 4,000 crore to Videocon Group, ICICI Bank MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar was caught in a controversy. The CBI on Saturday reportedly confirmed that a preliminary enquiry (PE) has been registered against Deepak Kochhar and Videocon chairman Venugopal Dhoot. Arvind Gupta, a trustee of Indian Investors Protection Council, alleged corrupt lending practices that led to financial gains for Chanda Chanda Kochhar and her family.
