CAN’T RELEASE CAUVERY WATER DUE TO SHORTAGE OF RAINFALL: KARNATAKA TO SC

Karnataka government has reportedly filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that it cannot release the Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu due to shortage of rainfall. The top court on Thursday directed the Karnataka government to release 4 tmc of water to Tamil Nadu. The apex court also directed the Centre to file an affidavit before May 8 when the hearing in the case resumes.
