BIHAR: CAR FALLS INTO POND KILLING SIX CHILDREN

According to reports, at least six children were killed on Tuesday after a car they were travelling in fell into a pond in Araria of Bihar. The incident took place near Tarabari when the children were returning to Doriya village after attending a wedding at Chikni village, 30 km from Araria.

Police said that the driver tried to avert an accident when some children were crossing the road. In the attempt, he lost control of the vehicle, hit a tree and then fell into the pond, police added. Locals rushed to the spot to rescue the children.

Of all the children who were taken to a hospital, six were declared dead. Two children, who suffered injuries, were sent to Araria Sadar hospital. Police said that the driver managed to escape and fled the spot.
