Woman operated under torchlight, dies six days later

A 45-year-old woman, who was operated under torchlight in Bihar, died on Thursday. Allegedly, Rubi Devi, a government school teacher in Bihar, and her husband were hit by a jeep on March 16. While her husband died on the spot, Rubi Devi was admitted to Saharsa Sadar Hospital. The hospital staff had to conduct a surgery under torchlight. However, Rubi Devi’s condition only worsened and she died six days later after being taken to Patna for better treatment. Rubi Devi’s relatives blame the hospital’s alleged negligence for her death.
