Bihar: 36 girls leave school due to eve-teasing, seek CM\'s help

As many as 36 girls of a Saharsa school in Bihar sought help from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar due to the harassment they face on their way to school. Fear of eve-teasing had even made the girls drop out of school.

The latest incident of eve-teasing was reported on October 4 when two girls, on their way to the school, were stopped by some men who assaulted them. When some boys, including one of the victim’s brothers, came to their rescue, the accused thrashed them mercilessly and later absconded.

“They would hurl abuses, pass on lewd comments and sing obscene Bhojpuri songs. It was very depressing for me,” one of the victims told Aaj Tak, a TV channel.
