WOMAN ORDERS RS 800 KURTA FROM ONLINE SHOPPING, LOSES RS 80,000!

In a shocking case, a Bengaluru woman was duped of nearly Rs 80,000 after she ordered a kurta on a fake e-commerce app.
The victim identified as Shravanna, has lodged a cheating complaint with the Konanakunte police. The incident took place on November 8.
According to Times of India (ToI) report, the victim downloaded the app, to order Rs 800 kurta for herself. After days of waiting for the product, the victim contacted the customer care number which was given on the app. While talking to the customer care, the official assured her that she will get her product soon.
In the meantime, she was asked to fill a form, a link for which was sent to her phone. Least did she know that she was trapped, she filled the form that asked her for bank account details. Minutes after sharing the OTP, Rs 79,600 was debited in four instalments from her account. The worried girl, called the number back many a time but all went in vain.
As per the police, they said that the fraudsters spoke in a way that she believed them. People should know that not all apps on Google Play Store and Apple's iOS are genuine, police added.
