Since the talks with the government have failed, the United Forum of Bank Unions has reportedly decided to go ahead with the strike on August 22. Stating that nearly 10 lakh employees and officers of various banks across the country would observe strike on August 22, the UFBU said, “the Centre and the IBA (Indian Banks’ Association) were not eager to resolve the issues; this has forced the unions to go ahead with the strike”, say reports.
