AT LEAST 6 MAOISTS KILLED IN FRESH GUNFIGHT IN MAHARASHTRA

According to reports, at least 16 Maoists, including two divisional committee members of the CPI (Maoist), were killed in a gunfight with a special combat unit of Maharashtra police on Sunday. The encounter occurred in the thick forests of Kaswapur in south Gadchiroli after the police received information about the movement of the rebels. Meanwhile, six other ultra-leftists were killed on Monday. Reportedly, the toll in the two encounters has gone up to 32.
