AS NUMBER OF CONFIRMED CASES CROSS 26,000-MARK, INDIAN GOVT UPDATES KEY DETAILS AND MEASURES TAKEN!

The total number of Corona virus cases in the country now stands at 26,500 and the death toll is 824, as per the data released by Health Ministry early Sunday.  

As per the reports, there are 19,868 active cases out of the 26,496 positive cases. The death toll soared between Friday night and Saturday evening, when India recorded 56 coronavirus- related deaths. 

Maharashtra continues to record the highest number of COVID-19 cases with over 6,000 positive cases, followed by Gujarat, Delhi and Rajasthan as per the figures released on 25th April. 

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases continues to alarm citizens as more and more states are crossing the 1,000- mark. Andhra Pradesh on Saturday reported 1,061 positive cases. As per India Today’s report, 171 patients have recovered whereas 31 have succumbed to the infection. 

Multiple instances of frontline workers getting affected by COVID19 is being reported from across the country. Police personnel were among people who were infected by the novel coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh.

Several Indian states are considering plasma therapy as an effective cure. According to medical experts, the plasma taken from the body of a patient who has recovered helps because the antibodies present in the plasma will help in stabilizing the immune system of patients who are fighting the virus.
