ARRESTED MAN GIVES REASON FOR MURDERING GAURI LANKESH

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested KT Naveen Kumar on May 9 in accordance with the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh. Through his confessions, Praveen was arrested as the second accused on May 19.

Reportedly, Naveen confessed to the police that he supplied bullets to Praveen so as to kill Lankesh. Praveen had supplied him with the reason that Gauri Lankesh must be killed as she is anti-Hindu. Naveen Kumar also confessed that he plotted to kill rationalist, Professor KS Bhagawan.

The 12-page charge sheet filed by the police consists of Naveen's confessions and his phone conversations. Gauri Lankesh, the editor of Lankesh Patrike was shot dead outside her house in Bengaluru on September 5, last year.
