While addressing a gathering in Assam, Republic TV’s Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami narrated an incident that had happened to him during the 2004 Gujarat riot. After a video of Arnab’s narration surfaced online, senior journalist and India Today’s Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted the video (which is unavailable to watch currently) saying that the incident happened to him and not Arnab.
Wow! My friend Arnab claims his car attacked next to CM Res in Guj riots! Truth:he wasn't covering Ahmedabad riots!! https://t.co/xOe7zY8rCp

He also said that they both were colleagues and were working for NDTV. Nalin Mehta, senior journalist and consulting editor of Times of India, and another senior journalist Sanjiv Singh also claimed that the incident happened to them and not Arnab. Rajdeep Sardesai has narrated the same incident in his book - 2014: The election that changed India.
Astonishing revelation considering Arnab wasn't in Gujarat when this incident took place with @sardesairajdeep. @bhavatoshsingh @nalinmehta https://t.co/HphTLSAs2j
