According to reports, Congress MLAs, who won the recently concluded Karnataka Assembly elections, are taken to Eagleton resort in Mysore road over fears of horse-trading. A luxury bus has been arranged to take the MLAs to the resort. Earlier, Congress’ Siddaramaiah alleged that their party MLAs were approached with cash and cabinet position offers by the BJP.
Meanwhile, HD Kumaraswamy, the Chief Minister candidate of JD(S) post-poll alliance, alleged that BJP approached his 32 MLAs with an offer of Rs 100 crore in cash and cabinet positions, however adding that his MLAs refused. He also warned that if BJP takes 10 of his MLAs, he will take 20 of BJP’s MLAs.
In Tamil Nadu, during the trust vote against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami-led government in February 2017, the AIADMK had lodged its MLAs at a resort in Koovathur near Chennai. The arrangement was made to curb any deflection of MLAs.
