Amid nation wide lockdown, Bengaluru police are coming up with novel ideas for the city people. A young officer in Karnataka, became an instant hit on social media after her video of encouragement and singing went viral.
Tabarak Fathima, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Pulikeshi Nagar suburb took to headlines after her friendly and unique approach to get the people’s cooperation during lockdown to fight against the deadly COVID-19.
In the video, Fathima, can be seen singing “Hum honge kaamyab”, which is a popular Hindi version of the American civil rights movement anthem “We shall overcome”. She also adds her own lyrics to the song, saying, "We shall stay at home, we shall sanitise, we shall wear face masks every day….”
Fathima also communicated with the residents in the area using a small public address system fitted on the motorbike. During her small public address, she also assured the residents that, there was no need to panic over essential commodities as necessary items will be provided.
With the latest updates, Coronavirus cases in India has crossed 600 while the number of deaths have reached 14. With the rise in confirmed cases the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered for a complete lockdown of the entire country for 21 days to stop the spread of coronavirus.
