Home > News Shots > IndiaPSI of Mahila, Ahemedabad has been arrested under the Prevention of Corruption act. This arrest was made after the police officer had taken a bribe from a rape accused.
A rape accused filed a complaint against PSI Shweta Jadeja, after she allegedly collected Rs. 35 lakh in return for not arresting the accused. The Special Operations Group has held the woman officer.
According to the police, PSI Shweta Jadeja is a PSI of 2016-17 batch. She is in-charge of the Mahila West Police station. A complaint was earlier filed against Kenal Shah where he was an accused of raping a woman. Jadeja was investigating the case.
According to the complaint filed by Shah, the woman PSI had called him and threatened to detain him under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities (PASA) Act and demanded Rs. 35 lakh.
After the complaint was filed, the SOG has taken up the case, for investigating.
