Home > News Shots > IndiaThe director of Pavitra Rishta Kushal Zaveri opened up on Sushant Singh Rajput’s death earlier and expressed that he is not convinced about the depression angle being the reason behind his death. Kushal, though was not Sushant’s director but he was one of the actor’s close friends.
"I spoke to Sushant 10 days before his death. He was looking forward. He had made his plans as always. I don't think anything bothered him on professional front. He was sorted. Absolutely fine. His energy and positivity was better. He never mentioned about any treatment or medicine. I am not convinced about depression story doing rounds,” he told CNN News 18.
"He never said anything about any medicine or going through any bad phase. He never spoke to me about Rhea (Chakraborty). January 2020, we spoke on phone. He called me from someone else's number. I was shooting in Goa. He said he wanted to meet. I promised him to meet after I would return to Mumbai,” he added.
He also took it to social media to express his disbelief and disagreement with the depression angle.
He also attacked Sanjana Sanghi for not responding to allegations against Sushant related to #Metoo
A WhatsApp chat between Sushant Singh Rajput and Kushal Zaveri has been released by Zee News. The both of them spoke on June 2, a few days before Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly died by suicide.
On June 1, the 34-year-old actor texted Kushal: "Kaise he bhai? I hope you're healthy and rocking. Miss you. Jai Shiv Shambho. - Sushant."
Kushal replied to Sushant on June 2, saying: "Glad to hear from you bhai .... health wise all is well ... but the struggle is for everyone and I am no exception ... hope all is good with you."
Within five minutes, Sushant texted back to Kushal saying: "Yes bhai, working on myself spiritually and trying to grow. Whenever I introspect, I really miss our golden days together. How precious they are. I just wanna say that work that we did together are something we should be proud of and find ways to continue with it and that we are always together. Pls give my love to sid too and tell him that I miss him a lot. Much love."
Kushal is hence of the view that depression could have not been the reason behind Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly died by suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14.
