According to reports, Police in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh detained eight donkeys and locked them in an unused juvenile prison as they ate expensive plants. Reportedly, the plants were arranged by their senior officer and it cost about Rs 2 lakhs to plant them to beautify the prison premises. The police wanted to find the owner of the donkeys to warn him about the behaviour of his donkeys. However, the owner reportedly said his donkeys were not released by the police for about four days and they finally released them after he approached a BJP leader who recommended the prison officials to release the donkeys.
