According to reports, a 7-year-old girl named Prarthana died after setting herself on fire when she tried to enact a TV serial at her home on November 11. The class 2 student from Karnataka’s Davangere area, collected papers, poured kerosene and set fire, when her parents were not home. She began to dance and also asked her 6-year-old sister to join her. However, when Prarthana started screaming, the younger sister ran to neighbours and informed. She was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to injuries. The incident came to light when her mother informed police on Wednesday so that no other children will be influenced by the serial.
