A 53-year-old man from Odisha was rescued after getting trapped inside a pipe for seven hours on Thursday. Pranakrishna Muduli, a labourer, was sucked inside a concrete pipe of width 2.5 feet at a pumping station.
An official reportedly said, "The mishap occurred when a staff of the pumping station, apparently unaware of the cleaning activity and presence of the worker, turned on the motor of the pump for water supply. Muduli was pulled into the concrete pipe having a width of around 2.5 foot due to sudden gushing of water."
Due to the intensity of the water, Muduli was sucked 20 feet inside the pipe. The Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) had to cut open the concrete pipe and retrieve him safely. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and is out of danger.
