INDIA'S COVID-19 POSITIVE CASES CROSSES 1,900; DEATH TOLL REACHES HIGHEST IN 24 HOURS
Home > News Shots > IndiaAs the number of coronavirus cases across the globe is soon to touch the 1 million- mark, the positive cases in India has drastically risen in the last 4 days. The Union Health Ministry confirmed more than 1900 positive cases so far with the death toll reaching to 50.
The Health Ministry further stated that 1,965 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed, with 328 in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the number of people who have been discharged after treatment is now 151.
India, recorded its highest single-day increase in the number of COVID-19 positive patients on Wednesday as 437 were reported.
Highlighting about state wise jump, Tamil Nadu recorded it biggest with 160 testing positive in a 24-hour period. So far, the state has registered 234 COVID-19 cases with one death linked to the virus while six others have recovered from it.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra too saw a big jump in the number of confirmed cases, as the state reported 86 new confirmed cases to take its total to 335. So far, 13 people have died from the virus and 42 have recovered.
This rise in confirmed cases comes days after thousands people attended a large religious gathering in Delhi's Nizamuddin.
