An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 measured on Richter scale hit Srinagar on Saturday morning at 05:44 a.m. No casualties have been reported yet. The epicentre of the medium intensity quake reportedly started in Sumbal in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. According to media reports, Geologists said that Jammu and Kashmir lie in a region where seismic activities, or vibrations in the Earth's crust, are high which may lead to frequent tremors. This is the fifth earthquake in India in three months.
