2ND ACCIDENT IN A DAY: 5 KILLED, SEVERAL INJURED IN ANOTHER LOCKDOWN TRAGEDY INVOLVING MIGRANT WORKERS!
Home > News Shots > IndiaFive migrant workers were killed and 19 others were injured, on Saturday, May 16 in an accident. The truck that they were travelling in, overturned in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.
These migrant workers were identified as those who were returning to their families in Uttar Pradesh, from Maharashtra. Sagar’s ASP Praveen Bhuria has also confirmed the same. He has added that the rescue operations are being undertaken.
As the nation-wide lockdown continues, due to the fear of the novel coronavirus spread, a number of migrant workers have lost their jobs. Restricting transportation between cities and states have resulted in migrant workers walking hundreds of Kilometres or travelling by trucks to reach their native places.
However, this accident has been reported within hours from the incident where 24 labourers died and several others who were injured in an accident where a truck collided with another in Uttar Pradesh. While the CMs of different states have been announcing compensation for the families of deceased persons and injured persons, these series of unfortunate events continue to unfold.
