A major attack was foiled when the police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district intercepted a vehicle moving about with 30 kg explosives in it. However, the car did not stop and security forces had to open fire.
As per a NDTV report, the police got tipped off last night about a terrorist moving with an explosives laden car. On immediate action, a 2019-Pulwama like blast was averted in the nick of time.
"A major incident of a vehicle borne IED blast is averted by the timely input and action by Pulwama Police, CRPF and Army," the Kashmir zone police took to Twitter and wrote. While checking the car, an IED was found fitted in the vehicle, which was later defused by experts.
The driver, managed to escape, leaving the IED laden car behind. The car had a fake number plate on it, police said. People living nearby that area have been evacuated.
