According to MAIL TODAY report, Delhi police have registered 1,562 FIRs related to rape in 2017. In 2012, police registered 706 FIR of rapes which increased almost two-and-a-half times in 2013 with 1,636 such cases. It was three times as high in 2014, 2015 and 2016, with police registering 2,166, 2,199 and 2,155 FIRs, reports added.
