The Italian tourists were part of a group of 23 that landed in the national capital Delhi and travelled to Rajasthan in February. According to an India Today report, one from the group, who is currently in Jaipur, tested positive yesterday. Meanwhile, his wife is also under watch for suspected infection.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said that 15 Italian tourists have been quarantined at an ITBP facility in New Delhi after the Italian couple, who showed signs of the virus was part of a tourist group to tour Rajasthan.
Currently, 15 other Italian tourists have tested positive for the virus. All 15 tourists have been kept in preventive isolation since Tuesday afternoon, confirmed AIIMS.
As per NDTV reports, till March 3, India reported six confirmed cases of coronavirus, which includes three from Kerala, all of whom have been cured. Even a man from New Delhi also tested positive for the virus after which two schools in Noida subsequently suspended classes.
