12 killed, 100 injured in explosion at NTPC power plant in UP

According to reports, at least 12 people have died and 100 others injured so far after a boiler pipe exploded in the newest 500 MW power generating unit on Wednesday at a state-run NTPC plant in Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. A massive fire broke out after the explosion and the plant has now been shut down, reports say. Reports also added that a National Disaster Response Force team has rushed for rescue services. The injured are reportedly being treated at nearby hospitals.
