According to a recent survey by anti-corruption global civil society organisation Transparency International, India has the highest bribery rate among as many as 16 Asia Pacific countries surveyed. Further, the report added that almost seven out of ten people who accessed public services in India were involved in the act of bribery. Meanwhile, in contrast, Japan has the lowest corruption rate, with 0.2% respondents paying a bribe.
