Following reports suggested that the US Congress may impose curbs on H1 B visas for skilled workers that threaten the tech sector, India has stepped up its lobbying effort to convince the Trump government to keep an open mind on admitting skilled Indian workers. Meanwhile, Union Trade Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said the Centre had reached out to US President Donald Trump’s administration to stress the importance of India's $150-billion IT services industry to US citizens.
