The Indian Institute of Science Bangalore has been listed as the country's best university in 'India Rankings 2017' published by HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar. Jawaharlal Nehru University and Banaras Hindu University came second and third respectively. Further, Miranda House was named as India's best college, followed by Chennai's Loyola College and Shri Ram College of Commerce.
