Gurmehar Kaur, who spoke out against Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), after the violence in Delhi’s Ramjas College, has reportedly said that she got threats including that of rape after she called out ABVP. The daughter of 1999 Kargil war martyr Captain Mandeep Singh posted a picture of her on Facebook with a placard that read, “I am a student from Delhi University. I am not afraid of ABVP. I am not alone. Every student of India is with me. #StudentsAgainstABVP”. Notably, ABVP is a student union affiliated to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
