Adolf Hitler was once chosen for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1939. He was nominated by a member of the Swedish Parliament, who did not intend the nomination to be taken seriously. The proposal of Hitler, meant as a satiric criticism, was however not well received and was removed in a letter dated February 1, 1939.
