The Afghanistan government on Monday announced Abdul Hasib, the head of Islamic State in Afghanistan, was killed on April 27 in a joint operation by the Afghan-US military forces. Hasib, who was appointed after his predecessor Hafiz Saeed Khan's death last year, is believed to have been behind the attack on a military hospital in Kabul in March, killing over 30 people.
