Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiran Rijiju on Wednesday reportedly said the government had seized fake notes with the face value of ₹6.2 crore since demonetization. Out of that, 5.7 crores was caught in Gujarat alone, amounting over 90 percent of the counterfeit currency. Other than Gujarat, large sums of counterfeit money were seized from Bengal and Assam.
