In a bid to curb note fraud, the central government will reportedly change the security features of higher denomination banknotes of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 500 every 3-4 years in agreement with global standards. Notably, this comes after a huge amount of fake currency was seized in the last four months post demonetisation.
