The FIFA on Monday announced the FIFPro World XI for 2016 in its annual awards ceremony in Zurich. The team comprises of five-time Ballon d'Or winner Leo Messi, the 2016 Ballon d’Or and FIFA player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo, Germany’s Manuel Neuer and Toni Kroos, the Brazilian defence duo of Marcelo and Dani Alves, the Spanish trio of Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos, Croatia’s Luka Modric and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. Notably, 9 out of the 11 represent Spain’s La Liga, with Real Madrid having the most representative of five players, while no Premier League player features in the team.
