Former UP minister and Samajwadi Party leader, Gayatri Prajapati, who had been absconding since February 27 was arrested in Lucknow on Wednesday. Prajapati who has been accused of raping a woman and assaulting her minor daughter reportedly spent his time in West Bengal and some Southern States. Notably, the SP leader lost from Amethi in 2017 Assembly elections, the constituency he had won last time.
