England defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets in the opening fixture of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 on Thursday, making it the highest successful chase in the tournament’s history. Batting first Bangladesh posted a competitive total of 305 for 6, courtesy of a hundred by Tamim Iqbal. However, England chased down the total with 16 balls remaining, thanks to Joe Root’s knock of 133*, becoming the fastest Englishman to reach ten ODI hundreds.
