On this day in 1999, retired Indian icons Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid scored ODI cricket's first ever 300-run partnership after notching 318 runs against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup at England’s Taunton, nearly 28 years after first ODI was played. Ganguly, who went on to score his career-best 183 in the match, contributed 157 off 146 balls for the second wicket partnership, while Dravid scored 145 off 129 balls.
