The Double-decker bus is reportedly expected to make its comeback to the Bengaluru city by the end of 2017. Notably, the Central government had earlier issued specifications for the double-decker buses. According to ToI report, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation is planning to buy four or five double-decker bus by the end of the year. These buses were reportedly stopped after a bus carrying schoolchildren turned turtle near Ramakrishna Mission, Gandhi Bazaar in 1980.
