Dalits in Chandapur village of Karnataka's Yadagiri's Shahpur taluk aren't permitted to go near the town well as the caste Hindus believe if Dalits touched the water, it would make Lord Hanuman angry. "We have to wait for the upper caste people to give us water...they provide us with a pot or two for each day," said an agricultural labourer.
