A 28-year-old Dalit scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University has reportedly been found dead at his friend’s residence on Monday. According to reports from police sources, Muthu Krishnan from Salem, Tamil Nadu, was allegedly found hanging from a ceiling fan. Muthu Krishnan joined for a PhD in JNU after completing M.Phil from the University of Hyderabad in 2015. Notably, his last facebook post read, "When equality is denied everything is denied. There is no Equality in M.phil/phd Admission, there is no equality in Viva – voce, there is only denial of equality, denying prof."
