Congress in its manifesto has reportedly promised to make efforts to strive for revocation of AFSPA from the Manipur. This comes ahead of the state polls which are slated to be held on March 4 and 8. Interestingly, activist Irom Sharmila, who had undertaken a 16-year-long hunger strike against AFSPA, is contesting election against Manipur CM and Congress leader Okram Ibobi Singh.
