Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday reportedly announced various programmes, including Rs 1,800 crore worth power transmission upgradation programme for Chennai city. The initiative would help install 31 substations and upgradation of 314 high voltage transformers, 33 new 11KV feeders and strengthening of existing feeders, the chief minister reportedly said. “Two GIS (gas-insulated switchgears) 400KV substations will be set up at and Koyambedu and Taramani in Chennai at Rs 2,010 crore,” he reportedly added.
