The Karnataka government has reportedly banned the sale and use of any type of Chinese manja and the use of other non-degradable materials used to fly kites unconditionally. The thread, also called as manja is coated with fine glass and other harmful substances and are largely responsible for causing damages and injuries to birds that get caught between them.
