Sunil Chhetri, the captain of the Indian football team, broke into the top five active international goalscorers after he scored his 53rd international goal in the Asian Cup qualifier against Myanmar on Tuesday. Chhetri now features alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, who leads the list with 71 goals, followed by Lionel Messi at 58 and American Clint Dempsey at 56. He is now tied with England’s all-time top scorer and captain Wayne Rooney.
